Arsenal make hopefully what will be the start of a prolonged return to winning ways in the premiership thanks to a converted penalty from Robert Pires. I'm surprised that Thierry Henry isn't taking them anymore, but oh well, who cares whose taking them as long as they go in?

Oh, but it looks like certain members of the press aren't too happy with our Bob ;-)

Robert Pires finally got off the mark with a penalty following Freddie Ljungberg's opening of our scoring account. I didn't get to see it, but particularly after all the rumours surrounding his future at Arsenal, it's nice to see him in the goals again.

A bit old but the most recent article I could find.

Pires postpones talks on new deal

From what I understand of the situation, Bob wants at least two years added to his contract while it is Arsenal's policy to give players over thirty only one year extensions to their contact at any one time (ie. Bergkamp). However things turn out, it seems like he's with us until at least January.

Juve and Milan Target Pires

God, I hate transfer season.

According to this article, Arsenal are set to close a deal that would send Pires to Valencia. Since the article's source is the infamous Sun tabloid, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

It's oldish...but it amuses me.
